There are a lot of ways you can decorate a home, of course, but one of the ways that a lot of people are always keen on is for the decor to have a little more glamor going on. This might actually be simpler than you think, and as long as you are aware of some of the basics behind it, you might find that you can achieve this look relatively easily in fact. All it takes is a little awareness of those tenets.

In this post, we are going to take a look at some of the small, niche touches that you can incorporate around the home which will help make for a much more glamorous decor. All of these subtle hints are really going to add up to make a huge difference, so that’s something that you might want to bear in mind.

A Hint Of Brass

Something we can all agree on is that the glamorous look tends to have hints of metals dotted around the place. There are some metals which are particularly good for this, and brass is definitely one of them. So you might want to think about how you can incorporate a hint of brass here and there. The important thing here is that you really do just want it to be a hint. Just a brass bar cart in the dining room and a brass clothes rail in the bedroom is sufficient to start making this kind of effect.

Tufted Furniture

In some respects, this really seems to bring a home’s decor back in time a little, but probably in exactly the way that you would hope for. Having good tufted furniture is going to mean that your living areas look instantly more glamorous, and it’s really amazing how much of an immediate and amazing effect this can really have. If you look around auctions and charity stores, you might find quite a few items of furniture that fit in with this description, and you might not even need to spend as much as you would think.

Gold Outlines

Your furniture might also benefit from having some gold outlines – in fact, this tends to go very well if you have a lot of the brass hints that we mentioned above, so that’s something that you should definitely think about here. Good gold outlines will help to bring out the precious metal effect, which is obviously one of the main reasons you are going to try and achieve this. All in all, having some gold in the furniture from place to place can really make a profound difference.

Faux Fur

Now, while there is no excuse for using real fur around the home anymore, there is certainly nothing wrong with using faux fur, and this is the kind of thing that is going to go down very well indeed in most homes, especially if you do want that glamorous touch to be as effective as possible. Faux fur is especially easy to make use of in the forms of benches and stools, so that’s something that you are going to want to consider here. It also helps in making the place more comfortable, which is obviously a beneficial thing too.

Mirrors

Although all homes have mirrors, how you use them is something that is going to make a huge difference to your decor, and if you are after a glamorous look then you are definitely going to want to think about having more mirrors than usual. You’ll also find it helpful and beneficial to have them in different places than usual, and especially in a way that exaggerates the size of the home considerably. That is something that you are going to love the effects of, so it’s certainly worth thinking about.

Vintage Items

Finally, make sure that you have a few vintage items dotted around the home. Certain of these, such as vintage rugs, are easy to incorporate in a lot of places, and you’ll find that they are going to be really amazing as parts of the decor. All in all, it’s all about making sure that you are using them casually but effectively. If you can do that, it’s really going to make a huge difference to the overall effect in the home.

As you can see, there are quite a few things you can do for a more glamorous decor. All of the above are worth looking into if that is something that you want to make sure of in your home.
