Three Simple Steps To Take Your Bathroom From Sorry State To Spa Chic

The bathroom might not seem like the most glamorous spot in your home, but did you know that it could easily become the location of your most stylish renovation to date? After all, bathrooms have mystery, allure, and an endless supply of pampering products. It might be difficult to see through a cluttered, damp-damaged design, but this area could become your favorite spot in the house after some surprisingly simple updates that take it from a sorry affair to a chic at-home spa.

Even better, you probably don’t need to knock down walls or even spend a fortune to pull off a transformation like this. Instead, you could end up with a pretty fantastic finished product, just by following these three easy steps.

# 1 – Consider a few big Switches

You don’t need to totally overhaul your bathroom to create a spa space, but you will want to think about a few big switches along the way. Freshening up your tub or changing a worn sink to a shiny new one can have more impact than you know. And it needn’t necessarily cost you the earth.

Even new tubs are achievable on a budget, while there are plenty of spa-worthy bathroom sets to buy secondhand if you know where to look for them. Our only word of warning is to avoid DIY installations that could end up costing you. Instead, stock up, contact plumbing experts, and sit back to enjoy a far fancier bathroom, right off the bat.

# 2 – Rethink Your Color Scheme

When you enter a spa, you feel instantly calm. Why is that? Well, the candles and calming music probably don’t hurt, but color schemes also do a fair amount of work here. And that couldn’t be easier to replicate at home.

Even if you don’t think that replacing your bright blue bathroom paint with neutral tones will make much difference, we bet you’ll be surprised. When planning a spa makeover, simply focus on gentle colors like sandy tones or fresh whites. Darker colors like blacks or ocean blues can also work here if you’re feeling adventurous and like the idea of a dark, soothing spa cave for your nightly retreats. These latter options can be especially beneficial for fixing up a problem bathroom with ease, as they’ll hide a multitude of sins!

# 3 – Sweat the Small Stuff

You don’t need a jacuzzi-style tub to create your own at-home spa. In truth, this makeover simply requires you to sweat the small stuff. After all, clean, fluffy white towels, candles in every corner, and plenty of plant life around the place will all elevate your bathroom from nil to nice.

As if that wasn’t easy enough, you can also transform this space with simple lightbulb switches. Soft, gentle lighting should create just the right atmosphere to make this space relaxing at last.

Spa-style bathrooms are all the rage this year, and there’s really no excuse not to lean into the trend when it’s this easy to achieve!
