Are you fed up with hating your bedroom? We don’t doubt it. We’re sure that it’s not fun when you’re getting into bed at the end of a long, hard day, only to find that you’re unhappy with the way that the space is. You’ve got so much going on in your life already, this is the last thing that you need, which means that it’s time to make some changes.
We’re sure that you could think of all of the excuses under the sun not to do this – it’s too much money, it’s going to take too much time, and so on, but none of them should stop you from improving your bedroom if this is what you want to do. Sure, you may have to save up for a while, but at least you’re working towards it.
Down below, we’re going to get into some of the ways that you can change your bedroom to ensure that you love it going forward. Want to know more? Let’s take a look.
Redecorate
Obviously, the first thing that we’re going to be looking at is redecorating your bedroom. If you don’t like it, this is probably one of the things that you dislike about it the most, right? So, before you start making changes, you need to think about what you actually would like. What color do you want it to be? Do you want it to all be the same shade, or do you think you would prefer it if there were contrasting colors, or the same color, but different shade?
It’s things like this that you need to consider, because once you’ve done it you want to love it, not still be thinking about ways that you can change it.
We recommend that you look online to see if any of the current design trends inspire you, and to make sure you don’t get FOMO when you head online after you’ve finished the decorating. For example, things like paneling are extremely common at the moment, as well as split walls, so they are something to consider.
Get A New Bed
A bed is one of the most important elements of a bedroom, right? As such, you need to ensure that you have a bed that you like, and that is comfortable for you to sleep in. If you’re not getting a good night of rest, then this is going to be causing you to be in a worse mood, and things that wouldn’t usually bother you are probably bothering you more.
So, it’s a good idea to do some research into different types of beds, different materials, different sizes and so on so that you find one that you love. Make sure that it fits into your budget though, as you can find some pretty good deals on beds.
You can’t just get the bed frame though, you also need to ensure that you have a comfortable mattress or having a pretty base isn’t going to do anything for you. Think about the different types of mattress, different materials, different levels of support, and so on to help you choose the right one. Ideally with these you want to test them out before you purchase.
Storage
Another thing that we want you to consider is how much storage you currently have, and whether this is enough for you. It might be true that you have clutter all over the room because you simply don’t have the storage space for all of your items, and you don’t have anywhere else for them to go. It’s stressful when this happens, and can make you hate your bedroom, but the good news is that there are always solutions.
The first solution is that when you’re looking for a new bed, choose one that has room underneath for you to store items. This could be an ottoman so that you can lift up the underneath of the frame and have all of that room to store your items. Or, you can look into one that has drawers underneath.
Alternatively, you can look into solutions such as getting custom closets and storage from a company that offers this service. You would need to get in touch with them and have them come out to measure so that they can accurately talk you through your options. Consider what space you’ve got, and see what they can do with it, and then go for the option that works the best for you.
Comfort Items
Finally, you want to consider comfort items, and add as many of them as you can to your bedroom so that you feel happy and comfortable here. Things like blankets, throw pillows, and even scented candles are good options here as they create a more comfortable and cozy environment for you to rest in.
Of course, you probably already have some of these, but they might not match the vibe that you’re going for in your new room. However, this doesn’t mean that they need to be thrown away, they can be put somewhere as spares, or in case you need them another time. You don’t need to waste what you’ve got.
But, you can also still purchase new items for your room so that they better match the new design that you have gone for. Some online shopping, or heading to a store can really help you find the pieces that will make your bedroom complete.
So, there you have it then. These are some of the things that you can do to fix the hatred that you have for your current bedroom. There are more options that you can consider, so it’s just going to be a case of working out what you want, and then making it a reality for you. Don’t worry about how long it’s going to take, as that time is going to pass anyway, so you may as well spend it doing something productive and moving towards getting a room you love to be in.
