4 Great Family Attractions in Pattaya, Thailand

the colourful culture, delicious cuisine and low cost of living are all positives that draw holidaymakers to this enchanting tropical paradise. Thailand is a great place for family holidays, and with that in mind, here are some cool family attractions that are in or near the coastal town of Pattaya.

  1. Ramayana Water Park – Billed as the biggest and best water park in Thailand, this is a fantastic venue to spend the day. There are 4 themed zones in total, with no less than 26 water slides that range from toddler-friendly to white knuckle extreme! The kids zone is huge with 16 slides and large pools; staying at beachfront hotel in Pattaya (this is commonly referred to as ที่พักพัทยา ติดทะเล in Thai) is perfect because you are never far from the best family-oriented attractions. The park is open from 11 am to 6 pm except on Wednesdays.
  2. Nong Nooch Tropical Gardens – A great place for garden lovers of all ages, the kids will appreciate the beauty of nature, and there are refreshments available and shaded areas where you can sit and relax. Every taxi driver knows this venue as it is also very popular with locals, and the garden is open from 8 am to 6 pm (last admission 5 pm). A spectacular array of tropical flora and fauna awaits the visitor, and we wouldn’t be surprised if you had numerous visits to these unique tropical gardens.
  3. Pattaya Dolphinarium – The whole family can enjoy a fabulous show by trained seals and dolphins; you can even have a close-up guided swim with these amazing creatures. There is a 50-minute dolphin show that involves daring acrobatics, and children aged 6 and over can swim and touch the dolphins in a supervised environment. The venue is open from Thursday to Tuesday, with dolphin shows at 11 am, 2 pm and 5 pm and dolphin swimming at 12 pm, 3 pm and 6 pm.
  4. Columbia Pictures Aquaverse – A water park themed around Hollywood, where you can meet your favourite Hollywood characters and experience the many slides and rides. Ghostbusters Park is a must for all horror fans, and you can buy all-day passes that allow you to ride everything. The park is open from 10 am to 6 pm daily, and the venue is located in Sattahip District in Chon Buri. The bumper cars and go-karts are great fun for both kids and adults; you will want to get there early and spend the day there. If you are planning to visit the Andaman Sea, click here for attractions.
  5. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary – Experience the majesty of elephants at a sanctuary that rescues elephants from all over Thailand. A half-day program is ideal, with morning and afternoon tours so you can spend time around these beautiful animals; this is an ethical sanctuary, there are no tricks, and you are contributing to their welfare, as they live out their days in a natural habitat.

There is a good reason why young families choose Pattaya, and we feel sure that you will return to Thailand sometime in the future.
