How to Plan the Layout for your New Garden Design

f you want to plan your garden layout but don’t quite know where to start then you have come to the right place. Here you will find out what steps you can take to try and make your garden look great without having to worry about overspending.

Evaluate your Garden

Evaluating your garden space is about more than just measuring the size of everything. First of all, you need to get to grips with the characteristics of the space you are working with. You need to work out how much sunlight your space gets and you also need to take into account what areas get full sun, and which parts don’t get any sun at all. The quality of the soil is also important. If you have a certain type of soil in your garden, whether it is clay soil, loam, or even sandy then this will determine what plants you can put down. It may be that you only opt for certain types of plants for example, and if you ignore this then you may end up with your plants dying in a very short space of time.

Sort your Boundary

You also need to give some thought to the boundary of your garden. If you have a fence now then this is a great starting point that you can work from. If you can, take the time to stain the fence and make sure that you also give some thought to the plants you’re going to get. A vibrant fence may look great against a backdrop of colorful flowers, for example. If you want to get the best result out of your fence then be sure to look into a fence staining service. If you do this then you can rest assured knowing that your fence is going to look fantastic and that you can easily get the result you need out of it.

Determine the Purpose

Another thing you need to do is determine the purpose of the garden. If you plan on attracting wildlife then this is great but at the same time, you may want some room for entertainment too. Things like this can help you to get the result you want and it can also help you to ensure that you’re not missing out.

Create a Sketch

If you are experienced in garden planning then you may want to use software to get the result you want. If you are not experienced then using a sketch may be a good enough way for you to visualize what you want from your garden as a whole. Be sure to take the time to place things like beds, large elements, and the overall layout too. If you can do this then you’re bound to get the result you need. Be sure to plan for the plants or trees you want to have and also make sure that you look at the height and the spread of your plants, as over time, this will change and may influence how you want to use your space.
