If you’ve found yourself to be lucky enough to have a spare room in your house, you may be wondering what to do with it. It may be tempting to play it safe and choose to turn it into a guest bedroom or a playroom for the kids, but what if you did something a bit different. There are plenty of ideas that you may have had when you were younger and less practical thinking, but there is no reason why you shouldn’t try and implement one of these ideas. You never know, it might even turn into one of your most-used rooms:
Craft room
For someone who loves crafts, a place dedicated to just this would be amazing. It would allow you to set everything out properly. If you love sewing, you will be able to have a permanent space for your sewing machine so that when inspiration strikes, you don’t have to spend time getting your machine out of the box; you can just get straight to it.
It would also allow for plenty of storage so that you could set everything out in a way that helps you to see what you have, instead of forgetting because it is all in boxes.
Library
For those who love being surrounded by books, this room would be a dream come true. The walls could be lined in shelves or bookcases of your choosing, and you could set up a comfy reading area, with relaxing lighting that could help you escape to a world of your choosing. The only thing that might be difficult is deciding how you want to organize your books.
Cinema room
Going to a cinema is an entirely different experience than watching a film in your living room, but what if you could bring that experience into your home? With the right television, seating and audio surround sound, you could find yourself being able to recreate the cinema experience in your own home. If you want some help to make it perfect, you could enlist the help of a Home Theater Company. The only other thing you will need is bags and bags of popcorn.
Music studio
For those who are musically inclined, a music studio may be the way to go. You can soundproof the room, so you don’t disturb neighbors or the rest of the house, and then fill it with all the equipment you need to have your friends round for a jam session. It might even be the space where you end up recording your first single!
Gaming room
A gaming room could take many forms. For some, it could be filled with retro games consoles and give you the space you need to expand your collection. Others may want to go for a more modern video game setup. It may also allow you to set up recording equipment so that you can stream your game playing online.
There could be some who take the games room in a completely different direction with board games. The room could be set up with tables and chairs comfy enough to invite your friends around to play all of your favorite board games.
